Getting Closer!

I'm circling in (sorry about that) on this quilt.
The twelve blocks are finished but not yet sewn into their rows.

Next step: auditioning border fabrics. The book shows a plain border followed by an applique'ed border. The outer border (vine and flowers) has me all a-tizzie, and as I'm allergic to hand work, I may have to "fast and dirty" a raw edge stick on affair.

In the meantime I'm finishing the Civil War repro for Aurora. Check out my progress on that blog.

Hi. I found you through a search, as I'm about one step ahead of you on this quilt and I'm about losing my mind on the borders. See my blog here:http://occasionalpiece.wordpress.com/

So I decided to do a search on Google image to see what I could find, and what I'm finding is not many people are doing that border that she shows in her book. I enjoyed it all up to this point, but I'm about ready to leave it at this point (same as you) because I love the interplay of the color and shape.

What do you have planned? Please leave a comment on my blog, and it will grab your email address. I'd love to have a "partner in crime" that I could talk it over with.

I used to live in Alexandria, VA--used to haunt The Artful Quilter--and used to belong to QU in Virginia (was in their show a couple of times--Mr. Vernon chapter) so it was really fun to see you mention it on your blog!

How do you DO that? My mom's a quilter and I'm always amazed at how much work goes into each quilt. I can hardly sew a button on - and just the idea of matching fabrics terrifies me.
